Lavender Haze: You Belong with Me

Tea I often spill: Every blue moon, my office mate plays Taylor Swift songs non-stop. Report her to H.R.? Heck no. See, I’m also a “Swiftie” at heart, so I sing along. Because having fun with pop music and fashion never goes out of style, I’ve been a fan since Taylor’s “Begin Again” visual. Directed by Philip Andelman in 2012, the retro Easter- egg-colored video serves up views of Paris, along with vintage-inspired summertime confections in draped, diaphanous lavender satin and sea green chiffon with a bow. In the video, Taylor Swift not only begins again with a new beau in a café on a Wednesday, but also pays homage to the Carrie Bradshaw character in “Sex and the City.” Taylor’s “love letter to Paris” features magasin Galeries Lafayette’s rooftop boasting a hazy view of the Eiffel Tower and Opéra at sunset. Our favorite singer- songwriter looks radiant with the breeze in her hair because sometimes karma is not only a relaxing thought and a cat but also a perfect confidence-building fit.
