Retro-Rocking Tulle Power

Here at Scout & Molly's, we’ve still got tulle on the brain. Inspired by multiple tulle skirt cameos in Sarah Jessica Parker’s “Sex and the City” reruns and the “And Just Like That” reboot on HBO Max, along with Sarah Lampert’s “Ginny & Georgia” on Netflix. Michelle Obama was also just tulle styling at her daughter's graduation.  

You’ll find no spoilers here. However, suffice it to say that the photogenic mesh confections stole not only our hearts but also each and every scene. Radiating with Hollywood glamour and kinetic drama, the fits looked retro but also modern.

And that’s not all. The cherry on the cake was most definitely the recent New York City celebration of the return of Amy Sherman-Palladino’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” show. Amazon Prime Video rolled out the pink carpet in the Big Apple. Then, in front of Saks Fifth Avenue, dancers in pink tulle skirts and tank tops bopped to the “Pink Shoe Laces” tune. Originally recorded in 1959 by Dodie Stevens and Bobby Hammack’s Orchestra, we haven’t been able to stop humming the jaunty song.

And just like that . . . we were in the mood for a tulle skirt and a tank top or sweater.
